Bangladesh sees decline in export to Australia

Merchandise export to Australia declined by 6.33 per cent in the 11 months of the current fiscal year (FY17).

The value of export to Australia stood at $603 million in July-May period of the current fiscal year, according to the latest statistics of the Export Promotion Bureau.

In the same period of FY16, export earnings from Australia stood at $644.91 million.

The EPB data also showed that ready-made garment (RMG) constituted two-third of the export to Australia.

The annual export to Australia was $705.63 million in the past fiscal year.
