Bangladesh to stand for labour rights in ILC meet

Bangladesh will stand for implementation of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) convention and protection of labour rights before the ongoing 106th International Labour Conference (ILC) at Geneva in Switzerland.

The position of Bangladesh over this issue will be discussed at the ILC on June 14 where Law Minister Anisul Huq will lead a 38-member delegation to represent the country.

The law minister left Dhaka today for attending the ILC which started on June 4, a law ministry press release said.

State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque, Senior Secretary to the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division of Law Ministry Mohammad Shahidul Haque, Labour and Employment Secretary Mikail Shipar, officials concerned of different ministries, and leaders of different business and labour organisations are also among the 38-member delegation.

The law minister is expected to return to the country on June 17, according to the press release.
