Some news highlights relevant to RMG sector:

• BGMEA Press Conference: On Tuesday, BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman at a press conference announced that owners of 55 garment units in Ashulia closed down their units for an indefinite period to prevent any agitation as per provision of Bangladeshi labour law “no work, no pay.”
• Fair Wear Foundation Holds Discussion: At a roundtable on gender-based violence and living wage in apparel sector organised by Fair Wear Foundation, Mashuda Khatun Shefali the executive director of Nari Uddug Kendra said that female workers mostly give away their salaries to their husbands and face harassments at workplace.
