Some news highlights relevant to RMG sector:
- 60 RMG Factories Still Closed: Due to the demand for salary hike and possible chaos, 60 RMG factories in Ashulia are still closed for past 11 days. Nazma Akter, president of Sammilito Garments Sramik Federation, a rights group, urged the factory owners to reopen.
- Power Plant in Khulna: At the weekly meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (NEC) a duel-fuel combined-cycle 330MW power plant was approved. The power plant will be located in the bank of Bhirab River at Khalishpur in Khulna to be completed by 2019.
