Govt changes incentive structure for exports
The government has brought some major changes to the incentive structure for exports in order to achieve a higher overseas sales target set for the current fiscal year, the Daily Star reported.
Bangladesh Bank on Thursday released an incentive structure for 2017-18, granting stimulus to five sectors for the first time and increasing existing rates for four, the report added.
Bangladeshi garment makers to join Paris show
Twenty six Bangladeshi garment makers are going to Paris to exhibit their apparel products at Texworld-Apparel Sourcing, one of the leading exhibitions for fabrics and apparel sourcing, the Daily Star reported.
This year’s four-day event will start on September 18. Bangladeshi companies had attended the show over 10 times earlier, the report added.
RMG owners asked to pay Eid bonus, arrears by 28 Aug
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday urged readymade garment (RMG) factory owners to pay Eid bonuses and arrears of the workers before 28 August, Prothom Alo reported.
“The owners have been asked to fix a date after discussion with the workers to clear all their dues,” the report quoted the minister as saying.
7th Bangladesh Denim Expo to focus on supply chain transparency
The seventh edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo will be held on November 8-9, 2017 at the International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka, with a focus on transparency at supply chain, Dhaka Tribune reported.
The exposition will be a get-together for buyers and consumers, and show where and how apparel products are manufactured, the report added.
