Some news highlights relevant to RMG sector: Mary Lynn Landgraf, senior international trade specialist with OTEXA reported the result of the Boston Consulting Group consumer mind-set survey. Conducted on more than 5,000 consumers in the U.S., China, Germany and France, more than 65 percent of the European participants prefer products made in their home countries, and more than 80 percent in the U.S. A surprising 61 percent in China said they would pay a premium for American-made goods in comparison to products made in China.

Currently Bangladesh grows only 1 per cent of total cotton demand in a year. Ispahani, Amber and Square have started contracting farmers to grow cotton.
