Some news highlights relevant to RMG sector: HSBC Award: The fourth HSBC Export Excellence Awards ceremony was held on Saturday. DBL Group, one of the fastest growing apparel companies, from Group A in the textile and ready made garment category was awarded for the second time since 2010, with annual export turnover of US Dollar 50 million or more. In the same category, SM Group of Companies Ltd won the award from Group B with annual export turnover less than US Dollar 50 million.

Some news highlights relevant to RMG sector: USGBC Award: The US Green Building Council (USGBC) has awarded world’s 25 top environment-friendly industrial structures of which seven are RMG factories in Bangladesh. The seven factories are: Remi Holdings, Plummy Fashions, Vintage Denim Studio, SQ Celsius 2, Genesis Washing, SQ Coblenz and SQ Birikina.

Some news highlights relevant to RMG sector: UNESCAP Report: According to the latest UNESCAP Report, unveiled on Wednesday in Bangkok, between 2010 and 2015 Bangladesh’s export has grown 15 per cent in comparison to the average export growth of 7.5 per cent in the Asia-Pacific region. The major exports of Bangladesh were from textile and garment sector amounting to 72.2 per cent of total export. On the other hand, the largest imports to Bangladesh were petroleum oils and fabrics.
