Bangladesh has so far implemented around 41 per cent of the 31 common global trade facilitation (TF) measures to reduce trade cost. The revelation was made public on Wednesday in a report on the Second Global Survey on Trade Facilitation and Paperless Trade, jointly conducted by five United Nations Regional Commissions.

Bangladesh has gone one notch down in the World Bank's ranking of ease of doing business mainly due to the hurdle businesses face here at the start of their operations. Shipments of non-apparel items rose 7.49 percent year-on-year to $1.51 billion in the first quarter of the fiscal year as the country is diversifying its export basket to cut reliance on garments.
