37 more RMG factories lose assocaition with Accord
Accord on Building and Fire Safety in Bangladesh, has cut business relations with 37 more Bangladeshi readymade garment factories due to refusal and failure of the factory authorities at implementing workplace safety measures in the units suggested by the buyers’ platform. The 37 factories are being operated under 12 business groups. With the latest 37 factories, the Accord has so far cut business relations with 133 RMG factories on ground of safety issues that produce products for the European brands and buyers.

Gas supply shortage deters production in Gazipur factories
Industrial enterprises in Gazipur are facing serious production setback due to disruption in natural gas supply. The gas supply shortage has turned severe in recent months leaving dozens of export-oriented factory manufacturers worried about maintaining the shipment schedules. According to the official statistics, there are 128 points of illegal gas connections, which is believed to have contributed to the supply shortage of gas to the industrial belt.
