Government to supply 500 mmcfd imported LNG to national grid

Bangladesh government is set to supply 500 mmcfd imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the national grid from April 25 to meet the country’s growing energy demand. The government is importing LNG from Qatar’s state-run energy company RasGas to ensure energy security in the country. The imported LNG will be supplied to Chittagong area and this will increase the gas pressure in the capital city.

IMF forecasts robust macroeconomic performance for Bangladesh

The macroeconomic performance of Bangladesh is set to remain robust in the coming year and inflation broadly stable, according to the statement made by a top official of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
