Some new highlights relevant to RMG sector:

• OTEXA Report: According to the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA), USA, among the leading six RMG exporters to USA, only Bangladesh and Vietnam continued in an increasing trend since last year.
• Micro-health Insurance: Progati Life Insurance, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation and TMSS has jointly organised “Workers Enrolment Festival” for promoting micro-health insurance for Bangladeshi RMG workers.
• VAT and BIN: The National Board of Revenue begins the online VAT re-registration for big companies today and plans to open re-registration for BIN for all from January
• Air Cargo Handling: Nasir Hossain, Vice-President of BGMEA said, “The 8,000 sqft shed (in the Shahjalal Airport, Dhaka has) reduced delivery time for imported samples of garment items significantly but just one shed is not enough for storing all the goods as tonnes of garment products are exported and imported through the airport.”
